School bursar workload
The bursar's workload distributes across a weekly operational rhythm, a termly governance cycle and an annual audit and budget cycle. Knowing where workload sits in the calendar is the foundation of every credible fractional engagement and every realistic permanent job description.
Three overlapping cycles
The weekly cycle covers payroll, banking, supplier payments, KCSiE checks and the senior leadership meeting. The termly cycle covers management accounts, governor papers and the Resources committee. The annual cycle covers year-end accounts, audit, insurance renewal and the SFVS or AAR return.[1]
